Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect from my first session?๏ผ‹
The first session is about getting to know each other and understanding what brings you to counselling. There is no pressure to share more than you feel comfortable with. Harry will explain how the process works, answer any questions you have, and together you will explore what you hope to get from counselling. It is a gentle, unhurried beginning.
Is everything I share confidential?๏ผ‹
Yes. Confidentiality is a cornerstone of the therapeutic relationship. What you share stays between you and Harry, with very limited exceptions required by law โ€” for example, if there is an immediate risk of serious harm to yourself or others. These limits will be explained clearly at the start of your work together.
How do I book an appointment?๏ผ‹
You can book directly online through the secure Halaxy booking system โ€” just click the "Book Now" button on this page. If you have questions before booking, you are also welcome to reach out to discuss whether counselling with Harry might be a good fit.
What is eco-therapy and how does it work?๏ผ‹
Eco-therapy (also called nature-based therapy) uses our relationship with the natural world as part of the healing process. It might involve mindful attention to nature, reflection on natural cycles, or simply acknowledging how deeply connected we are to the world around us. It is grounded in growing evidence that connection to nature supports mental health, wellbeing, and recovery.
Is this an LGBTQIA+ affirming practice?๏ผ‹
Absolutely. Grounded Growth Counselling is a fully LGBTQIA+ affirming practice. Harry is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and non-judgmental space for people of all gender identities, sexual orientations, and relationship styles. You are welcome here exactly as you are.
What if I have never seen a counsellor before?๏ผ‹
That is completely okay โ€” many people come to counselling for the first time and feel unsure about what to expect. Harry works at your pace and creates a warm, supportive environment where you can explore what is happening for you without pressure. Taking the first step is the hardest part, and it takes real courage.
